Stone massages, which include a combination of both hot and cold stones with different massage methods, can bring forth a very soothing and radically distinctive type of treatment. This is usually adjusted depending on the client’s needs. Stone massages have been and are still being used to produce a feeling of refreshing tranquility and to put aside all the tension a person is usually going through. Other massages are used for injuries, rehabilitation, energy boosts, easing of tissues and reflexology. Stone massages can also be united with spa treatments as an accent mark in some cases.

Relaxation massages are usually done by heating the stones and placing them on one’s body on specific parts for a period of time allowing them to relax the muscle tissues. The placement on certain parts of a body with these stones, help draw the consciousness towards the deeper tissues. Sometimes tranquilizing and essential oils are used side by side with these stones to decrease the stress inhabited and to balance the nervous system.

Another vital stone massage would be the “Imparting Strength Massage” which is done by placing a hot stone in one hand and a cold stone in the other. The same massage is also done in another way; heating both hands and then rubbing the hands with cold stones gradually. This kind of massage is not very much uncomfortable and is well refreshing for the tired ones.

When there is an injury or a tissue inflammation, hot and cold stone massages do an excellent job. Hot stones can be used near the injury site, decreasing the muscle spasm and guarding it. On the other hand, for early stages of any injury it is best to use cold stone massages, as they would be a perfect barrier like an ice cup.

There are some stages of an injury which are present within a person but without any symptoms and might be long lasting, for this hot stone massages can be used to release the pain from the actual point of injury. The stones produce a feel of weight and depth, especially with the deeper tissues. All this once again if combined with the right tannins and oils stabilize the nervous system in a proper and meaningful way.

Stones which have been induced in the spa treatments basically bring in the modulation from one state to another by a simple earth element; stone. The stones can be used to exercise the tissues before any other product is about to be applied in any medical therapy. As the list goes on related to stone massages, they are used daily in facials, body applications, pedicures and manicures, simply by displaying one in an ostentatious manner. Stones having a smooth surface are usually used to apply the rougher textures products such as a substance used for the process of exfoliation. The smooth stones would just help in forming up a rich sensation for the client. All therapists who are providing stone massages should not be bound and restrained to a single technique, but should have the feel and observation for new techniques by going ahead and applying them on their client’s and looking for what the response is. Every client shall respond to a certain massage technique, the way he or she responds shall give you the opportunity of providing that individual with the right type of massage.
